I’m still waiting for change I can believe in. I became a Democrat because I believed the Republicans were too BIG BUSSINESS at the expense of the middle class.
Like most of those raised in a military household, and serving in Vietnam myself, I was a Republican. That ended with Regan. But then I was living in California when he was governor, so I had an unfair advantage. I really thought that things were going to be different with President Obama, but I guess not. And talk about being disappointed in a Democratic Senate! The Republican minority is eating their lunch and I don’t see the Dems putting up much of a fight. Of course, a bunch is up for re-election. I guess that’s more important than doing the right thing, fighting the good fight, and going down scrapping. Looks like business as usual, just trying to keep their jobs.
I keep getting requests for money from the Dems, but I just say not to bother me until they grow a backbone.

Are you Paying Attention?
More people in the United States believe in flying saucers than in evolution, 18 % of Americans think the president is a Muslum, a growing number here do not believe in climate change, I could go on, but why bother.
A long time ago the tobacco industry realized that they didn't have to prove cigarette smoking is safe, just confuse enough people about the research to make them doubt the data saying it isn't. Now big business, big religion and political parties use this technique to convince us to doubt what should be as plain as the noses on our faces. They point out that a few scientists disagree with the majority so the theory must be wrong, whether it be climate change or evolution.
Science does not know what causes gravity, but I'll bet the farm nobody would step off a ten story building because of that.

We Only Have One Environment

The Obama Department of Interior is doing a great job cleaning up that scandal riddled department, but doesn’t get high marks for doing its job.
Since President Obama picked Ken Salazar to head up Interior, they have been following the Bush administrations’ lead when it comes to protecting endangered species.
Not only has the Obama Department of Interior agreed with the previous administration when it comes to reducing protection for polar bears, now they refuse to protect some 1200 wolves in Montana and Idaho. These two states are gearing up to join Alaska in slaughtering hundreds of wolves at a time when their population has declined due to some as yet undiagnosed disease.
There is that old saying, “The more things change the more they stay the same.”
There is a lot of big money that is afraid protecting the Polar Bear will require them to do more on Climate Change and of course most ranchers don’t like wolves.
Here’s another old saying for you, ‘Money talks, trash walks.’
